What You Should Know About Your Peugeot Key Fob
Peugeot Key Fob is an excellent feature that allows drivers to start their vehicle from a distance. This feature is useful in cold or hot weather, as it gives drivers the chance to warm their vehicle's engine and interior before entering the vehicle.

Keyless Entry
As well as unlocking and opening the doors of your car, some key fobs can also be used to start the engine. This is useful if the vehicle has to be left in a hot weather condition or in the case that the boot is stuffed with heavy items that make it difficult to manually open the door. To open the car using your key fob, simply press the unlock button on it several times in quick succession. The door locks will be locked and a red light will start to flash. If this doesn't occur then your key fob battery may be dead and needs to be replaced. Alternately, RF interference caused by nearby buildings could interfere with your system.
Some key fobs have physical keys that can be used to open your car (often for the driver's side door, but occasionally the boot too). They are usually accessible by opening a flap on the fob, or by pressing a button on the case. The key's physical part can slide out of the slot of the case to access the lock.
Key fobs may be damaged by water particularly when the chips are exposed to salty or soapy water. In some instances a chip that has been damaged can cause key fobs to cease working. In this case the key fob will need to be replaced by the dealer. Locksmiths can provide replacement keys faster and at a lesser cost than dealerships.
Remote Start
If your key fob is equipped with the remote start feature, it allows you to turn on the engine without needing to have your car keys on the palm of your hand. This is particularly helpful when it's hot and you want to cool your car down while running the errands. However, there are a few important things to be aware of prior to using this feature.

Some key fobs come with an engine start button you can press to start your car remotely (for example, Ford has a circular arrow that is moving clockwise on its key fob). Other key fobs, like Mazda's requires that you first lock the key and then press the start button.
G28 Car Keys may have a weak or dead battery in your key fob if you're not able to start your car. The battery in the key fob isn't as strong to transmit a signal to the car system.
If this happens, you can either replace the batteries or re-program your key fob. This procedure varies from car to car, but you can generally follow the instructions in the owner's manual. Door Locks
The Peugeot 3008 remote key system allows the owner to lock and unlock their vehicle with a press of a button on the key fob. As opposed to the traditional keys that has a key hole that is physical the key fob has a hidden electronic copy of the car key inside.
To do this, it uses the use of a specific radio signal that can only be transmitted when the key is within a certain range of the car. A solenoid in the door lock converts the electronic command to a mechanical one once the signal has been spotted. This is accomplished by moving a rod which is used to operate the car door locks exactly like the turning of a physical key used to do.
If you find that your Peugeot key fob isn't locking or unlocking the car, there are several possible reasons for the issue. The most frequent cause is an unresponsive coin battery which can be replaced in minutes. Other causes include worn buttons, water damage, signal interference or a faulty electronic chip.
The key fobs of modern automobiles is not an exception. Modern cars require extremely high level precision to function. The key fob may have been programmed incorrectly or it could have a hardware defect that stops the vehicle from responding to the signal of the key. A certified locksmith can reprogramme your key fob to make sure it is compatible with the vehicle.
Immobiliser
Peugeot were among the first car manufacturers to incorporate an immobiliser chip in a key. This stops the car from starting in the event that the key transmits the incorrect signal to the car. This is great when they're new however, over time, the chips may get worn out and cause issues. This typically starts with a message saying 'anti theft system active on the dashboard or a warning light illuminated stating "immobiliser fault".
Peugeot dealerships are usually used to design and program replacement keys. However, a professional mobile locksmith is equipped with dealer-standard tools in their van, which means they can be there and creating new Peugeot keys on the roadside or at home much quicker than dealers would be capable of.
Generally Peugeot keys start to show problems because the key blade wears out. This wear can cause the mouth of the key not to get into the lock properly, causing further wear on the locks. Often simply swapping over a new blade can help solve the issue. It may also be helpful to have the teeth of the keys rehabilitated to make them more efficient. This is something only a fully trained auto locksmith can accomplish but it could reduce the frustration and money in the end.
